Failing an exam or assessment can have serious consequences. It could delay you starting the next Bimester or level of your course. It could affect your final degree classification. In some cases it could even cause you to fail your course completely. It is important to understand the university’s rules and how these apply to you. This guide provides information about the relevant regulations and what to do in case you havof a failure.

Each Bimester, your final confirmed Exam Results for each module are published on your exams portal. You may find that you have Exams that are marked as ‘Referred‘ or that are marked as ‘Retake‘.

If you have a referred exams, it means you’ll be able to re-sit for your exams or re-submit the assessment in the next Bimester on specific dates, as announced by the Exams Department.

If you have a Exams with a status of ‘Failed; Retake‘, you’ll need to retake the module in the next Bimester, including attending all the classes and re-sitting and re-submitting any assessments. However you can’t retake specific modules – you would have to re-take the whole exam for the Bimester.

NB: If you retake the module, you will be required to pay the school fees for that particular Bimester in Full.
